Red Armed Panther
Cheyenne warrior, hunter and scout, Red Armed Panther (also known as Red Sleeve) scouted for General Nelson Miles during the 1877 Nez Perce campaign. He later became an Indian policeman at Lame Deer. This portrait captures the beauty, dignity and sense of self-worth of the Plains Indians. Notice the nacre trade buttons incorporated into the work.
